Exploring Sydney Harbor
Updated: Mar 10
Sydney Harbor was the first place we visited in Australia. One reason is there is so much to see in the area and there is easy access by ferry, train, or bus. Once there, you can walk to the Sydney Harbor Bridge, the Sydney Opera House, The Rocks, the Museum of Contemporary Art, eat at a variety of restaurants (sit down or take away), shop, or just sit and admire the view in the park where you may also be entertained by local musicians.
You may not notice when looking at the above photo but look closely at the top left half of bridge. Those tiny dots are people - yes, you can climb up to the top and enjoy an incredible view if you are brave enough!
Who hasn't seen photos of the Sydney Harbor Bridge and the Sydney Opera House but I couldn't resist. It is nearly impossible though to photograph a perspective that hasn't already been done.
Circular Quay in Sydney Cove is referred to as the gateway to Sydney Harbor and is an international shipping port, ferry terminal, and commuter rail. It is at the foot of the Central Business District and a short walk to The Rocks (for more shopping and eating!).
