Updated: Mar 17
In Carlsbad, California, north of San Diego, there is a place called "The Flower Fields" open once a year in Spring from March through the beginning of May. If you are in the area, make time to visit the beautiful multi color field of flowers on nearly 50 acres overlooking the Pacific Ocean. You can also take time out to enjoy the onsite food and drink, wagon rides, and scheduled special events including yoga, wine tasting, arts and crafts, tea in the garden, music, and sunrise services.
Take your time strolling among the flower paths, take photos, tour the grounds via the wagon ride or just sit on a bench overlooking the fields and take in the view.
The flower grown here is called the Tecolote Giant Ranunculus which is native to Asia Minor and is a member of the buttercup family. It is also known as the Persian Buttercup or Ranunculus Asiatic. These flowers are a kaleidoscope of vivid, intense colors all of equal brilliance and beauty.
